OK, this is a brand new story from yours truly. The actual inspiration from this comes from a dream i had last night. Basically what happens is, my dragon Gridion, a normal, everyday dragon, finds out he has a rare aura. To hone his powers, he must gather the two dragons, Spyro and Cynder, and a third animal...it depends on what powers he needs. Then, just before midnight on the Summer Solstice, he is to draw power from the beings, to defeat a rising evil.

Tick, tock...tick, tock...
I lay lazily in the noonday sun, flies buzzing around my head. I absentmindedly snapped at them.
Tick, tock...tick, tock...
I sat up, listening. What the heck was that noise? Standing up and stretching, I spread my wings and flew in the direction of the noise.
Today was the first day of summer, June 21. The Summer Solstice. And all day, strange things had been happening. My hearing had been much more clearer, my eyesight even better than normal. Now this last one is odd, since I am dyslexic. Anyways, I located the source of the sound at a nearby cave. I raised my eyebrows. This cave is quite close...how can I never have heard this before? I wondered. The sun was high above right now, so the cool of the cave was going to feel nice anyways. I stepped inside and was immediately hit with a wave of nice cold air. I followed a small tunnel for a few minutes. All of a sudden it widened out into a cavern. I gasped.

The cavern was completely silver. No joke, everything was silver! There were silver flowers, silver tables, chairs, even a silver toilet! I chuckled to myself at that one. The only thing that wasn't silver was a large bed smack-dab in the middle of the room. A large silver (no surprise there) dragon lay in it. He opened his eyes and saw me. He smiled and stood up. He walked to me, and spoke. "Gridion...we have been waiting for you," he said. I looked at him in total surprise. "M-me? How do you even know me? Who are you?" I demanded. He chuckled. "Oh, please forgive my rudeness. My name is Silvertongue," he clarified. I looked around the room and smiled at him. "Not much of a surprise there," I told him. He laughed a deep, low laugh. "Ah, yes...silver is quite an inconspicious color, don't you agree?" I shrugged. "Now, we have much to discuss. Shall we talk over some tea and cakes?" My stomach grumbled then. "I suppose so...?" I answered.

Silvertongue and I sat down in a room off from the main cavern. He brought out the refreshments, then sat down directly across from me. The way he stared at me was kinda unnerving.
Tick, tock...tick, tock...
There was that sound again! Only this time, closer. I looked around and saw what was making the noise. It was a HUGE clock. The whole clock was about the size of my full wingspan. This huge machine got me thinking. Who is this guy...really? I decided to ask him. He chuckled at me. "I'm sure you've heard of me. Perhaps only stories, but perhaps. I am the new Chronicler," I swear, my mouth was gaping. I HAD heard the stories of the Chronicler, but I had disregarded them as myths, pure children's fairy tales. "So, then...can you really control time?" I asked in wonder. He nodded, then said the most shocking thing ever. "And so can you," I just laughed at the old fool. "Me? You've gotta be kidding me, I can't even ask out a girl! You REALLY think that I've got these...powers?" I cried. He held up a paw for me to stop. "Just listen. You are a very rare dragon. You are one of the sons of the Legendary Dragons, Spyro and Cynder. Your aura, or force that drives all matter, is perhaps one of the rarest this world has ever seen. And next summer, on the Summer Solstice, you will find your first Component and awaken your true magical being,"

I stared at Silvertongue, trying to comprehend what I just heard. "Isn't today the Summer Solstice? Why can't I just start now?" Silvertongue just smiled at me. It was getting a little creepy, that grin of his. "Because you haven't been trained in what you ALREADY know," he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. I replied sarcasticly, "Oh yes, what I ALREADY know. Of course! So what? Can I breathe Ice? Betcha that myth was real too, eh?" The Chronicler nodded. His confidence...it just made me angry. "So, you believe in childish myths, do you? Here's what I think of them!" I stood up and smashed his teacup on the floor. Grumbling angrily, I made my way out of the cave. Silvertongue didn't move to stop me, and I'm glad he didn't. He just sat there, unmolested, and said, "You'll be back. Trust me...you will,"

Silvertongue...where did i hear that before..?
