It's not finalized yet but the current gems system is just based off how long you've been registered as well as how many posts you've made, moreso to do with posts. You should also know that it's completely pointless as there are no privileges made up for being in a higher group, but whatever. I'm sure I'll eventually get around to completing the forum.
