i've been combing over the smilies, and i wanted to make a list of my personal top ten of them. please note that this only includes the "basic run of the mill" smilies, NOT the spyro ones... i will make a separate list for those in a later post, as there are a LOT of them (thanks skylanders).

10. (i do not like how smug this thing looks. who gives it the right?)
9. (pretty generic, but reminds me of the sun seed from spyro: year of the dragon)
8. :/ (i can't get this one to show up, check the help files for reference. used correctly, something like this could really hurt someone's feelings in the 2010s)
7. (also generic for its time, but i have nostalgia for these things)
6. (very surprised, perfectly serviceable for reacting to information that shocks you)
5. (looks very innocent and sweet, i hope it can get some rest soon)
4. (ugh, it's not a phase!)
3. (very wise, but won't tell you what it knows. not out of malice or to mess with you, but because it wants you to learn in your own way unlike the other wink)
2. (it looks truly fed up with whatever it saw)
1. (it just seems very silly yet also warm and comforting, like a friend jokingly teasing you)

is another good one. and i agree that the moneybags is very evil, yet at the same time it perfectly captures his canonical smugness. i think we should throw hammers at him
