I've had this game in the back of my mind for years, and yet have never played it or even seen it being played... not even a screenshot. For the people that have this game: What is it like? What is it about? Can you just talk to me about it?
I've known the game exist(ed/s) but I have never looked into it.

I'm not new or blind, lol, I just figured I'd see if anyone who has played it could just tell me a bit about it. Considering the state of the site, just trying to strike up a conversation about something I am unfamiliar with.
Not looking for guides, but thoughts about it; the gameplay and how it feels, the story, if it was good or interesting in the least.

I played it a few times yeeeeeeeears ago, and i remember loving it because it felt so much more connected to the original trilogy in a way A Hero's Tail doesn't (for me). fun and interesting storyline and gameplay, i do reccommend

Well, what is hard about it, what is confusing about it? Just going back and forth with "it sucks" and "it was fun" is not telling me much about the game itself. One opinion about the game doesn't give me anything to go on.

Hi there! I was skimming through the Shadow Legacy boards (since I am currently replaying it) and decided to make an account just to reply to your thread.
Overall I personally like Shadow Legacy. The character writing / dialogue, little books, and the isometric 2D artwork is kind of charming, and it has some interesting story/gameplay concepts that get improved upon a few years later in the Legend of Spyro trilogy. Unfortunately the actual gameplay itself is very unpolished and can be pretty frustrating to play. It has performance issues (lag) on the DS, multiple bugs that can softlock the player in areas and force them to reload or restart the game, and there is a large optional part of the game (going into caves/minidungeons) that is completely unplayable due to a bug that causes the content inside the caves to fail to load. Spyro often gets stuck when platforming, and it is really difficult to judge distance/depth when platforming so he frequently falls in water/off cliffs in areas that you wouldn't expect him to fall in. This game had a lot of potential to be a very fun DS title and probably needed more development time and playtesting before release. I think if you already have an interest in side Spyro games that the game is worth playing (if you are in a patient mood), or watching someone else play at least once. |
