Well! It’s mid October and that means Halloween celebrations! Tell me about your pumpkin carving experiences!

When I was little sometimes we’d paint those tiny decorative pumpkins or give them googley eyes. When I got old enough to carve, I’d always do things from movies or games I liked instead of faces. One year I did the silk puberty of Spyro from eternal night! Very much not a pumpkin carving expert but it’s always a blast. I think sometime it would be fun to carve some smaller type of vegetable. Iirc the traditions the holiday draws on they would use other vegetables as well!

When I was younger, both my brother--who is ten years older than me--and my sister--who is twelve years older than me--would carve pumpkins with me. It was a fun family activity. I would always do Pokemon or animals; my siblings did whatever they were into at the time or something Halloween themed. I would always be the one to gut the pumpkins, though. I LOVE pumpkin guts. My sister even took pictures of me playing with them and put them on her Facebook.

After the carving and gutting, we would snag the seeds and roast them in the oven. I personally do not like pumpkin seeds roasted like that, but the memories of pumpkin carving were worth the trouble. (The rest of the family did not really eat them, either. Thinking about it, I think we stopped roasting them after a certain year since no one ate them...)

Sadly, I no longer carve pumpkins. My family is too busy, and so am I. When I am out of college and begin living with my boyfriend, I hope to start carving pumpkins with him and begin the tradition that has been left behind anew.

our pumpkins are usually too small and the local gourds have edible skin, so it'd be a waste

last year we did just a simple goofy face one. this year both my mom and i got white ones and painted em.

mine is splatoon themed, of course :)

i hope to have one to tell in a few weeks thr first one since i was a kid since my fiance is adamant that i have a good amd new experience with it so fingers crossed for tray one then

we think the mouse is finally either dead or gone, and i dont think we'll be having that problem any time soon due to the new cat, so we can finally have our pumpkins out in the open in our house now lol

unfortunately we got the flu sp we settled for a pizza instead of catcing pumpkins boo hoo
