Children should not have their own smartphones. I am writing this after having to deal with a 40 minute meltdown over iPhones with a 6 year old and an 11 year old who should not have them. The 11 year old has started telling everyone to shut the **** up when the iPhone is taken away.
Do not give children iPhones, let them use tech in a controlled environment with moderation and supervision.
(Dumb basic call/text phones are obviously fine.)
(Also I'd say 14ish? or just when they're teens is fine to introduce smart phones.).
