I honestly don't know what to feel, it's still the same we just collectively stopped caring.

I think we are in a better state compared to a few years ago. Like the release of the vaccine and the death rate lowering from like 14% to 3% . I looked at graph on ourworldindata.org I'm too lazy to link it on mobile Really I just hope companies can stop using covid as an excuse to understaff, undersupply, allow poor working conditions, and increase prices |

Yeah we definitely are doing better it just feels like everything is stuck in 2020 somehow, I think the company point is a part of it. It also feels like its still lingering culturally?, especially with an oncoming recession everything still feels as bleak as the pandemic. |

My students in Korea are slowing taking their masks off as the weeks go by. It's weird seeing their faces again.

Is Korea a health conscious country? Like how strict were the protocols? |

It got pretty strict in 2020 and for awhile in 2021. Actually I can't even remember exactly when things started loosening up because it's all a blur. But at first all the restaurants, malls, and cafes would shut down whenever there were too many covid cases (plus the bars would always shut down before 10pm no matter what), and schools would teach remotely. Sometime after the vaccine came out they set up a system where we had to scan our info to verify that we got the vaccine before we could go inside malls and stuff (I think that was at the end of 2021, or maybe the beginning of 2022 that we last had to do that). Also it became a requirement to be vaccinated in order to work at a school, so any teachers who didn't want to get the vaccine had to quit (I got it though, so I was fine). For a while we also had to sanitize every student's hands before class with disinfectant spray, plus put plastic barriers up on the desks, and we had to fill out a form everyday to notify if we left town or went to a crowded place. And if anyone at the school got covid, all the rest of us would have to get tested (though eventually they loosened it so only the people in the same class had to get tested). Technically they lifted the mask mandate for outdoors sometime last year, but it's only these past couple months that people have started taking them off in large numbers, now that the indoor mandate has been lifted. At this point, other than the fact that about half of people are still wearing masks, everything feels back to normal now.

It’s an endemic disease now. Is not going away but at least is way more manageable.
Due to the reduction in cases and my experience at work with COVID, I’m now testing for other viral diseases such as influenzas, RSV, parainfluenzas, metapneumoviruses and STDs. |

Whoa dang I didn't realize it was finally downscaled to an endemic! Feels like things have gotten a lot better, and I'm glad the disease isn't as deadly as it was, but man we're still gonna be feeling the repercussions for a while.

You can't really make viruses disappear to the point where nobody can get infected |
