sonic 06 is like the assignment that you read the sparknotes about and spend an all-nighter on. it's really ****ty but at least technically complete

like... i have fond memories of etd, so i'll admit, i'm more attached to it than sonic 06. but it's a very obviously unfinished game. it's not even half as long as the ps1 titles.

i'm not as familiar with sonic, so i can't say if sonic 06 holds up well in length compared to other sonic games, but at least there's a complete-ish story. it also doesn't randomly crash as often

at the end of the day though in defense of you liking the game Thunder if you enjoy a game though it matters more than the quality i could laugh more if the spyro community werent such jerks and meme happy over it to the point of bullying people legitimately if they like a game they dont like or think is ****ty (like with dawn of the dragon back in the day too and the same goes for the sonic fans too exactly "sonic fans who whine about sonic 06 being a bad game are weak")

Gonna be honest, I really like ETD despite all it's shortcomings, and I'm not even nostalgic over it as I barely played it as a child. I love it mostly for being the last ever console Spyro game that stuck to the original formula. I like the level design too and levels like Monkey Monastery and Cloud 9 are some of my favourites in the Spyro series. The music was fantastic, apart from the Ripto Boss fight music lol. To me, while I would say that the TLOS games are better and I love them too, ETD is my favourite post-Insomniac Spyro game. Wish Universal had allowed the developers freedom to make the game how they want instead of saying no to most of the levels pitched to them. Mr FO1's documentary is great. I can only imagine the great Spyro games we would have got in the original style had this game been complete and received favourably.

^yeah if the production wasnt terror on earth it probably would have helped the development a touch but that music is so good yeah i dont play any spyro but i sure like stewart and with that one i think he hit it out of the park

it gave us the iconic WAAAAAHHHH scene. for that, and many other reasons, i adore it

Outside of SoI and SoF, ETD was my first Spyro game. I was just a pup back then and didn't really notice or even understand how poor quality it was. I really loved playing it. Definitely one of the most nostalgic games for me, possibly THE most nostalgic next to Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland.
