What it suspected, Blink the Mole is named as ''Blinky'', and he appears for the first time in Crash and Spyro Fusion before A Hero's Tail launch. Why he was named Blinky in his story?

Nina Cortex also appeared in Fusion before Twinsanity release, with a different personality to Twinsanity. The Twinsanity devs were mad about it.
I guess the Fusion devs were handed the wrong info or just made a mistake.

he wanted to be cool in a Hero's Tail, insists on being called Blink

in all honesty I think the devs just jumped to conclusions and assumptions about characters without knowing much

his name was originally blinky, but the devs for a hero's tail dropped the y for some reason. that change didn't make its way to the devs of this game though, similar to how ember is orange in this game but pink in the final a hero's tail; she was originally orange.
