A sequel to the first movie is on Netflix (under the name "We Can be Heroes")

and Robert Rodriguez ALREADY announced a sequel to the sequel so effectively Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3

Yup same, they even have a kid in the new movie who is basically a waterbender who also has shark strength.

Does raise a question though if the movie takes place in Max's dreams, and is the reason Sharkboy got with Lavagirl because Max shipped his two original characters together? Considering the first movie is inspired by his child's dreams, does Robert's child (Who is probably a teenager or adult by now) know that Sharkboy and Lavagirl are now married in the new movie.
So many questions.
