"once upon a time there was a little purple dragon. his name was spyro.

he was very good at playing hookie. it was his habit of skipping out on his dragonly duties that saved his scales.

enraged by the insults of spyro's dragon family, gnasty gnorc cast a spell that froze all of the dragons in crystal. all except for one.

spyro happened to be hiding just out of range of the spell. he thought he'd been hiding from a pottery class.

when he realized what had happened to the other dragons, he traveled all across the dragon realms to rescue his extended family and reverse the spell.

oh, and he was accompanied by me! sparx the dragonfly!"
