using critic reviews doesn't take into account how many units Kid Icarus sold, which is what makes the game underrated, it didn't sell that well.

Also I've heard Kid Icarus Uprising's underrated so much over the years, so is it underrated anymore?

please compare that to mario and zelda and animal crossing which is all anyone ever ****ing talks about when they talk nintendo

Because Kid Icarus was always a niche Nintendo IP? The original NES game sold 1.76 million units, and Of Myths and Monsters isn't even in the chart for best selling Game Boy games. The fact that Uprising sold over a million units is commendable.

i guess i can agree that underrated is probably the wrong word, but it’s definitely underappreciated by the vast majority of nintendo fans

In all honesty though, calling it underrated is definitely not the proper title for the video. It would have been better as Sakurai's Masterpiece or just a general "One of Nintendo's Best".

Underrated is more for those clickbait views, which, if the video has good content that's more than that, is fair, youtube sucks and you have to play dirty where reasonable.

It's still a good video! I think it's more because Pit is still known more for Smash than his own series, even though it's been two titles since he got a new game and it has several moments of going "hey KIU was a good game play it to get the context".

well in this exciting new world of youtube video essays we can revisit popular childhood media to talk about why they're underrated masterpieces or if we wanna get adventurous use basic critical theory principles to make videos on children's movies seem socially important
sorry if i sound mean here i'm just kind of bitter about this sort of thing

gotta love those "things your stupidass didn't know about [movie/show]" as opposed to "facts about [movie/show]"
makes users want to go watch the video to prove they did know and are not stupid
