If you ask me, Mixer actually seems pretty convenient.
Sure, it's still rather early in development compared to a software like Substance Painter, so it doesn't have of a variety in things like brushes, but what I like about Quixel Mixer is that it's free (and not just for some BS 30 day trial period that's hardly enough time) and the UI feels a lot more intuitive. And it comes with some pretty decent materials to use on top of that.
