Hunter Applications Are Now Complete - New Moderators Chosen

Today I'm opening up the application process to find new volunteers who wish to become one of several new moderators for the darkSpyro Forums. It's been nearly five years since I last went looking for new moderators for the forum so this is long overdue.

Here's a quick FAQ on the role:

What is a Hunter?
A Hunter is the darkSpyro name for a moderator. And what is a moderator? A moderator is a forum member who has the authority to keep order in the forums and the extra abilities to back it up. They can close, delete, edit, lock, merge and move topics and posts, as well as warn users, suspend them, and if necessary ban them.

What are you looking for in a moderator?
Somebody who is mature and can be as neutral as possible in resolving disputes between other members of the forum. You should already be a positive member of the community and be willing to help those new to the site as well as reminding those longer term members how they should be behaving.

What kind of time commitment are you looking for?
Ideally the candidate will already visit the forum fairly frequently and spend at least 1 hour per day here. This position is not looking to extend your time input to the site just what you can do with it. If you're rarely on or don't stay long when you do visit then this task is probably not for you.

What's the pay?
This is an entirely voluntary and unpaid position. You're not tied into the role and can quit at any time if it turns out that you do not like the role or do not feel up to it once you've tried it out (or for any other reason of course).

What are the minimum requirements?
The minimum requirement to apply is to simply for your account to have 100 Gems.

So how do I apply?
Fill out the Hunter Application Form to the best of your abilities, submit it and then sit back and relax. You can however continue to modify your application right up until the closing date.


Applications will be open for one month so the end date for applying is the 30th of November 2019. After that time all of the applications will be read through and the best candidates will be selected (please be patient while that takes place). When that has happened I will contact the successful applicants through Private Message and then announce who has been selected on the forums once all have confirmed.

Thank you again dark for your increased transparency this past year in regards to listening and accepting feedback and making improvements to the site. I imagine I speak on behalf of a lot of the community here when I say we have taken notice of your efforts to improve the website and forum as of recently and we greatly appreciate the steps that have been taken the past several months to make this forum and this community a better place.

Reminder from an old mod, when you sign-up you are tasked with being professional as possible. No making fun of users in your avatars, signatures, GBs, etc.

Otherwise good luck, have fun, remember to communicate with other mods before making a large decision!

If you're applying, just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into - don't be like me who got the position when apps first went up as a Green Sparx but was unprepared for what it actually took.

I'm sure that the forums are much more manageable compared to when I initially became Hunter when Skylanders was still huge, but there's still incidents every now and then so hopefully you're enthusiastic about the position and ready to deal with anything that pops up as well as taking responsibility for your actions if necessary.

Congrats to new mods, I'm grateful to still being a mod, i check the forum a lot of times with the hope of some sort of news on the Skylanders franchise... God, how I miss the Skylanders franchise...

congrats to the new hunters. Don't think this site needs an army of mods because users online is always gonna be less then 20. I also don't think a new game is gonna gather more traffic because forums are being replaced by social media.
