What the hell is up with these new 'gurus' anyway?

I know gurus are teachers, helpers, etc. in India like teachers and helpers everywhere in the world but my beef is with the self-stylized western ones like Jordan Peterson and Richard LaRunia.

Not only is their ideals are gross and their advice to their followers are idiotic at best, they flip out whenever they're called out or criticized. They think they should be able to do whatever they want without question but their egos are so fragile, they can't handle their little worlds falling apart and their later appearances reflect their bruised egos.

LaRuiner is crapping out Super Seducer sequels just to express how much he hates his critics and Peter Jordanson looks like an F-list Batman villain.

I quite like Jordan Peterson myself. I'm not in blind agreement with what he says and I'm not a huge fan of how he handles criticism sometimes, but to be fair most of his criticism comes from what I would call "blind opposition". People who (like you) call his ideas idiotic without explanation or examination, or just call him a nazi.

I saw him live recently in Helsinki. He is a very natural speaker and I was amazed at how pleasant the whole experience was. There was no shouting or any hint of annoyance or irritation in the way he spoke. He just talked about his book, answered some questions mostly pertaining to psychology and joked around a bit. Finnish audiences are usually very easygoing though, so I guess he didn't have much to worry about.

Okay, so I read a bit about Peterson.

I'm definitely not a fan of his views but there's a shred of truth in them. That being said, I don't really see how he's a Nazi or a guru, nor do I see how he's an
