Like everyone else said, do some research on The Prohibition area to see how ineffective it was in stopping people from getting and consuming alcohol.

lol if it does end up happening they will have fun trying to put those laws in australia.

One thing that does and has always bothered me is how drugs are treated like its basically the boggy man and lots of people have a negative view on it and it's illegal, yet alcohol basically causes similar effects yet is deemed completely fine. I'd actually argue alcohol can be worse when the person is beyond drunk, and being an alcoholic is a thing.

Being an Australian I totally get this.

But I agree completely with everything you said in this post.
(Alchoholism runs in the family so I know first hand how horrid it can be).

Krystal I really do hope you're alright.

While not my Dad, I have dealt with major alcoholism in my family as well. Frankly, I don't blame Krystal at all.

Hell, I've nearly sworn off alcoholic drinks myself. Just too many bad memories (None of which are violence towards me) of drunken rages.

to be fair i love my red wine (which i drink in moderation btw) too much and i refuse to have that taken away from me.

But yeah I think it's fine if it's done in moderation, especially if it's something like red wine which I'm fairly sure actually has beneficial effects. That's why I don't think it should be illegal since it's only a problem when it's being used stupidly. Im one of the few people who enjoy drinking it in moderation and can't stand getting 'smashed' after experiencing the effects of a constant hangover involving vomiting. >.>
