All of those characters that could easily star on their own games, gone just like that.

The real funeral is on October though. I'll be sure to send lots of compliments to Eric Rogers for putting so much love into the end of a franchise.

I never really cared about the games but it seems that a lot of people love them dearly. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back in like 10 years for the 10's kid nostalgia hehe

It really is unfortunate though. As much as I prefer Classic Spyro to any Skylanders game, it sucks that the two can't be 'alive' (I can't think of another way to word that) at the same time. There were so many things with limitless potential in the Skylanders universe, but now it's unlikely that it will ever be used unless the series is revived someday. Oof.

Honestly?
I can’t be too sad, and for two very good reasons.

The most obvious one is that the gap left in my heart will be filled by none other than my all time favorite videogame character, and that makes me unbelievably happy.
Of course there are still no plans for brand new titles after the Reignited Trilogy, and it could very well end up being just a celebration of Spyro’s 20th birthday, but there is also a possibility of Activision fully reviving his franchise.
I can barely think of how excited I’d be if they announced a brand new game next year or the following one.

The second is that to me Skylanders ended on a very high note.
Imaginators is probably my overall favorite title of the series for a vast number of reasons, and we even got a great show as the icing on the cake (even if it’ll soon be over as well).
I can thank the franchise for introducing younger gamers to Spyro, allowing them to know who he is now before they’ll hopefully get a taste of his origins this September, and I can thank it for making him and Crash meet again both in-game and on the small screen after many years.

I could say much more, but I won’t for the sake of this post not occupying half the page and also because something tells me this is not the last time we’ll hear about this whimsical and wacky universe.
After all, I used to think Crash and Spyro were forgotten for many years.

I think the constant 'keep buying new figure for each game to unlock everything!" is what killed it. Most parents are not prepared to spend that much money.

I saw that and assumed it was, like, a comparison from last year, to the one this year that doesn't list Skylanders.

sad times I always preferred TLOS and Classic Series but Skylanders will always have a little space for skylanders on my shelf :3
