I don't say this very often about the issues I discuss, but I do believe there is a happy medium here.

I grew up around guns, so I know how useful they can be in the hands of responsible owners, and how dangerous they can be in the hands of irresponsible ones. Therefore, I fully support stronger background checks and sales restrictions (decisions which I think should be made at the federal level, not the state level), but I oppose outright bans on certain categories of weapons because I think it'd be a very slippery slope.
