Serious topic.

It sounds silly, I know but it scares me. Not just the task itself but the responsibility of it, especially as it's not a responsibility I wanted to have.

I'm living in this house with my Grandfather who has a broken leg so all the responsibilities of the house are on me and I hate it.
I know I sound selfish and whiny but it really does scare me, having such a big job to do every other week and we have a giant yard so it's an all day job.

So...Yeah. Any thoughts or advice?

What scares you about mowing your lawn?

Well, again, the responsibility of it mostly. But also the size of it means it's a huge undertaking and we have some rather deep ditches around our property that have scared me since my Grandmother fell in one several years back.

But mainly the responsibility.

no, it doesn't sound whiny at all to me. I can understand that. I have weird fears myself sometimes, too.

I would try to steer clear of those big ditches. especially with something dangerous and heavy like a lawn mower...! but if the responsibility is what scares you the most, look at it this way... you were trusted to take care of this. i'm sure not for no reason. you must have something about you that says that this is something you can do. just have confidence in yourself, and I am absolutely positive that you'll do a fine job!

now, this is a different kind of thing, but the first time I ever used a vacuum cleaner, it felt like this giant huge untamed beast and that I was literally going to ruin my entire apartment (well, my dads) with this thing. it did feel like too much for me at first... but when I started doing it, I got the hang of it and I understood why I was trusted with it afterwards. I could do it...! it was just that I was too scared at first, lol.

If you have a riding lawn tractor, it'd actually be a lot of fun to do. Back in my stupid days, I used to get really stoned and cut the grass with our lawn tractor; very safe, I know.
