Ok ok, maybe this question is not very common in the international fanbase.
We Italians have always had a big debate about the pronunciation of Spyro's name.
Spiro or Spairo?
The pronunciation of Spiro coming from "Pyro" (piro) from the Greek word to say fire.
Also in the Ratchet & Clank remake, developed by Insomniac, there is a reference to Spyro which however is written as follows:

Speero. Spiro.

Italian as well, I used to call him “Speero” due to the original trilogy’s dubbing, but slowly started calling him “Spairo” as time passed and more games with that pronunciation were released.

But now I came back to “Speero”, and I’ll still call him like that no matter the Reignited Trilogy’s dubbing, because it helps building and even more nostalgic atmosphere.
I think an official pronounciation would be cool, but I also like a bit more individual freedom.

Spyro's name is a portmanteau of Pyro (Greek for fire), and Spiro (Latin for "to breathe"), so make of that what you will.
