not saying that these artists suck (i like most of these songs) but this is just a list of songs that people who think they're different listen to

pumped up kicks - foster the people
ain't no rest for the wicked - cage the elephant
stressed out - twenty one pilots
take a walk - passion pit
what you know - two door cinema club
do i wanna know? - arctic monkeys
redbone - childish gambino
feels like we only go backwards - tame impala

Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" was incredibly grating when I watched CBBC, as it was used to advertise every. single. programme. Rock 'n' Roll All Nite by KISS (or rather, just its chorus) is a particularly basic person rock song. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, because I don't really know what a basic person is. I would probably like one as a pet.

Mr. Brightside. Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic song, but I've met multiple people who were like "Oh I LOVE The Killers!" But they've only heard Mr. Brightside. Not even anything else on Hot Fuss.

I've also gotten "Hey, my music library is so diverse I got pop and rock but it's like 49 pop songs and Mr. Brightside
