Unexpected Fate
Clusters of dragons hunched down in a mossy grotto. Their faces screwed up, some had tears seeping down their cheeks with the loss of their family. Amilie was a small, coal-black, thin dragon with bony black wings that came up on long stalks. She had white wing-skin and beady bright yellow eyes. She was breathing a cloudy, deep purple breath, it was not convexity, however. Marlin was a strong, young male dragon, great friends with Amilie. He was plated with honey-yellow armor and had crooked gold horns. His scales were navy-blue and gleaming, his eyes glittery green like his wings. They fought the crashing bombs together. But the Hambers came forwards baring bloody bronze knives, their purple veins sticking out on their mud-brown foreheads.
"We can never do this Amilie!" yelled Marlin swiftly dodging another firery bomb.
"We can! Never say never!" Amilie screetched.
Hambers hurled themselves in every direction, shrieking "THAT'S HER!THAT'S HER!"
They lunged at Amilie, grabbing her with their gnarled, bony fingers. They carried her away, over the fuggy red horison.
"AMILIE!" shouted Marlin desperatly. He swung round his thin, piercing tail, and let his acid-green wings beat the air.
Even if Amilie was out of sight he could still hear her pleading scream, high above the others...
As he approached the Hambers. They had tied a shrieking Amilie to a sturdy wooden post with tough, wispy rope. She struggled desperatley, tears spurting down her black cheeks as they raised a chunky knife to her.
Marlin couldn't have stopped them. They picked up the knife...
They cut her
(Italics = Marlin's thoughts)
As blood gushed out of the cut in her chest, it spilled on the rubbly floor and began to hiss like poison. Because little did the Hamber's know that if a dragon's blood is spilt, dead or alive, it turns to vicious fumes and kills the creatures responsible.
I carried her back. I kept telling myself she'd be alright, it was just a cut, she'd survived worse. Her blood leaked on my hands. She'd never be the same again.
No, never say never.
She wasn't alright. I rocked her, her parents rocked her. Amilie's hands touched mine though her eyes stayed firmly closed.
She was dead...
What do y'all think?
