why is there a day that you're supposed to let your significant other know you love them? sure a box of chocolates and flowers is really nice and appreciated but that can be done any other day (or days) a year.

yea but same as like i could give anyone wrapped gifts outside of christmas so what's the point of celebrating gift swapping christmas festivites out of christian beliefs

it's just a special day where that one thing is emphasized more, I don't see anything wrong with it, besides february as a month is synonymous with romance

you dont have to celebrate it but i know that if i was with someone id celebrate it despite doing nice things for my significant other all the time cuz it's just another excuse to show someone how much you love them

I always just try to sleep through Valentines Day because I don't want a girlfriend, boyfriend, or any type of romantic relationship, and no matter how clear I make this, everyone and their mothers, from my family to my friends to the internet, always asks "So have you found that special someone yet? I embrace it, but people like my mom and some of my friends still can't quite put 2 and 2 together even after years of hearing it. Back in my childhood, I realized romantic stuff just wasn't my type and they said "Oh you'll see in a few years!" but now that I'm an adult and I still don't really have any sexual preference, they're pretty confused that it's possible to not want a girlfriend.

And yes, I love trolling them with those types of pictures. Poking fun at them like that is my favorite part.
