Playstation 2. Notable games I had were:

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie Videogame
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom
Lego Star Wars: The Videogame
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure (ironic, since the whole reason I had a PS2 is because I was disabled)

Battle For Bikini Bottom is my favourite, although back then, I think DESA was my most played game.

Although I was 10 when I first played it, I often consider Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (Xbox 360) as one of my main childhood games. Mostly because I played it so much when it first came out.

However, the four I mentioned were among the first I ever played - I was 3 years old when I got my PS2.

I also remember that the hospital I went to had a PS2 there as well, I think Simpsons Hit and Run was another game I played a lot (yes, I played that game whilst I was in hospital for a brain operation), but I've never owned that game. I only have faint memories of playing that whilst I was in hospital. There may have been one or two others, but Hit and Run was the only one I particularly remember - I was only 3 at the time, after all, I can't remember much.

Nintendo 64 and Gameboy Color. I had an NES, a GameCube, Gameboy Advance and Gameboy Advance SP but they ended up either being thrown out because they stopped working/became a hazard (GameCube and Sega Genesis) or lost (Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, NES). I also played the PS1, PS2 and Sega Dreamcast at one point during my childhood, but only just a few times and that was it.

Really early - Dreamcast and N64, barely touched them. I played seriously on PS2 first. If emulators count, SNES and GBA.

Man I remember the SNES emulator with the snowy pause screen and the gray and purple colors. I didn't understand that this was different from those old flash game sites so I always thought my brother found this amazing compilation somewhere and used his great knowledge to get it working offline.

Then later I got scammed into buying a CD with the GBA emulator(I was not a tech savvy kid) and noticed it was just because he could read english.

Uh, yes they are??? That's why they're called handheld/portable consoles. Consoles like the PS2 or Wii are home consoles.
Both are in fact consoles, it's just that these days people usually call home consoles just consoles, and handheld consoles just handhelds, but they're both consoles nonetheless.

Seriously, do you honestly always feel the need to "correct" people? Because you always do it, even if you're wrong, and it's really annoying. Not to mention it's always in the most condescending way possible.
I don't want to start any drama, but god damn, at least do some research before trying to act like you're smarter than somebody else because it honestly makes you look ignorant af.

well handheld console is never used to refer to handhelds anymore
consoles= Home bound
handhelds= mobile

That is true, although handhelds usually refer to iPhones and similar devices instead of 3DSes and such, but I still hear them referred to as "handhelds" rather than "consoles". However, they are still consoles, even if not always referred to as such. "Handhelds" is more of an abbreviation, because it works easier than calling PS4s and such "homes". If anything has a library of videogames, I think that's enough to qualify it as a console, handheld or "home". So yes, Gameboys and DSes are consoles, even if not always referred to as such.

English can be a silly language sometimes.

GBA was first gaming anything I owned, wasn't really allowed to play much games as a kid so it's all I had for a long time.

I often played an N64 at my summer daycare as a kid too if that counts for anything.

boi, a console is a console regardless of what you classify it as.

ds=console
ps2=console

just because something is portable doesn't change the fact that it's console, you moron.

My first console ever was the Nintendo Gamecube, playing Battle Mode in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is my first video game memory, followed by The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. When I was nine, my dad had a really big present for the family, which was the wii, we stayed up til 12:40 playing Wii Sports boxing and creating Miis.

The Nintendo Switch is the first console I bought with my own money, my first gift as and adult (Just turned 18 this March.)

I've much enjoyed alot of other consoles in the time between the three, and am determined not to stick with just one bias, I want to enjoy as many unique and fantastic games as I can in my life, I eventually got around to getting used consoles like the PlayStation 1+2 & etc. which gave me alot of great games such as Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter and the such....

I'm rambling aren't I? hehe...

And so did I, though you can still see it here (and you must have edited it again before I managed to reply, since the original quote isn't here).

We're on a website dedicated to a purple dragon, who recently got turned into more of a side character in a game primarily made to get money from kids. Of course people are gonna be making a lot of mistakes. I mean, it was a mistake that originally led me here. If I never decided to buy those 6 Skylanders, I'd be a lot richer and generally feeling a lot better right now.

First console was the PlayStation 1, which was quickly replaced by the PlayStation 2. My first handheld was the Gameboy Advance SP, and I upgraded to the Nintendo DS Lite late in my childhood.
