im in college, people talking while the teacher is giving a lecture shouldn’t ****ing happen anymore.

and why do these people always have to sit around or directly next to me

Same thing in my high school classes, but there has been even worse that went on in my high school classes (like in my science class, some of the people makes fun of my teacher's accent)

This happens in every level of education, unfortunately. Sometimes it is because of the lazy students but most cases I can recall has been fault of boring textbook teacher who doesn't have charisma and people-reading ability to change the way of his/her lecturing. But I still feel bad for you since you seem to have real desire to learn. I'd suggest that you keep on asking questions from your lecturer, therefore maintaining the student-teacher dialogue in the class so those loudmouth students won't have a chance to open their mouths. Although, in this day and age of smart communication it is very obsolete to use actual spoken words to make a point. Why not just interact with messages via social media and whatnot?

i typically do, though its typically after class due to some public speaking anxiety.

My class: constant talking

Me, in my mind: You’re basically contributing to the problem, but I can’t tell you otherwise I’m contributing to the problem

The chaos that is my social studies class has caused me to leave in the middle of class to get away from the screams of both students and teachers
This isn’t even an exaggeration my class is terrible enough that they recently forced our teacher to let them redo an assignment they all cheated on by just being obnoxious enough that she yelled at them and let them redo it so they’d shut up
I say they because I was in a room across the hall at the time and I could hear the screams
