Warning: Posting spoilers is allowed here, but if you do want to see them then you shouldn't look at this topic.

If you could change any one movie to fit your liking, what one would it be and how would you change it?

I would pick the movie 10 Cloverfield Lane, and I would change it to actually be a continuation of the original.

First, instead of modern day, I'd like it if it was set on the day the first movie happened. So, this movie would basically another view of the original Cloverfield movie.
In the final scenes, where she encounters the aliens, they are replaced by the parasites. She manages to kill them by lighting up that alcohol bottle and throwing it at them, then driving away. She later finds out what is happening on the radio. I'll keep that moment when she decides to be heroic and go help the people in danger, and she turns and drives towards the city. And you know that final shot where you see the other alien ships in the sky? I'd replace it with a shot where you see other parasites coming out of the tall grass as Michelle drives off.

There's mine. What about you guys?

The Emoji Movie... *breathes in*
  • Don't make teenagers look like idiots who can't function without phones
  • Remove all the humans from the movie
  • Change the premise of only one Emoji feeling actual emotions to all but one (Gene) feeling emotions
  • Everyone tries to help him feel emotions, but by this point they all gave up
  • One day he finds out about a hacker (Jailbreak) that could possibly give him emotions
  • Replace Hi-5 with the Poop Emoji (maybe as a best friend and not a selfish jerk)
  • Smiler overhears the conversation but misunderstands and gets really paranoid because hacker
  • They go on a journey through apps with less product placement to get to the system settings to override the data something something emotions
  • Generic love story that is probably better than the actual movie

  • ...or option 2...
  • Don't make a movie about Emojis

    The Hunger Games
How hard is it to make a small scene of Madge giving Katniss the Mockingjay pin instead of her buying it and thinking it's special
    HOW HARD, GARY ROSS

Also small inconsistencies like Marvel and Rue not getting Cannons, the order of Thresh and Foxface's death, Cato's death in a whole, and Peeta's leg magically being healed and not being cut off
The dream would for the movies to be NOT PG13 and allowed to show blood and death, so Marvel can actually get shot in the head and not chest, and Clove get her head smashed with a rock and NOT thrown against a wall until she dies from ???

    Death Note (2017)

Alright, so I've never watched the original anime, so I probably can't say how to make it more accurate to the source material. However, here are some tone and writing changes I'd make for it to be a WAY better movie on its own.

-Get rid of that stupid scene in the classroom he's freaking out like a dip****. Likewise, Ryuk shouldn't tear up the classroom like an idiot either. Make that scene more subtle and creepy. Have it so Ryuk stalks him for a while and THEN he reveals his form to Light.

-Start Light off with good intentions and THEN have him go crazy with the revenge stuff. I don't get why it's reversed in the movie.

-Don't blow all the gore so early on. Build up to that stuff! Again, he goes crazy with power soon enough, so the gore will be more justified then

-Mia is already his girlfriend and she's not a ****ing psycho like she is in the original film. She still finds out early on and is a bit of an accomplice, but she's not all for it.

-The end of the movie is as follows: L has been tracking down Light for a while and Light starts doing the unthinkable and murdering innocent guards and policemen after him. At this point he's clearly gone insane to the point where he's overthinking a plot to kill L by taking over his guard and finding out L's real name. This makes Mia extremely concerned and she takes the Death Note away from Light in his sleep so he could stop his murderous spree. After a chase scene and fight between the two, they end up in a junkyard for one final confrontation. It's revealed that she . That's not how that works, though and Light and Mia spend the final few minutes until midnight reflecting on their time with the book and how corrupt it made him. Light finally jumps off of a crane and Mia cries a lot. The film ends at Light's funeral and the stinger of the film is the Death Note falling into Mia's lap and Ryuk maniacally laughing as credit's roll.

It's not perfect, but it's at least something.

    The Guard

Completely change Brendan Gleeson's character from a lazy mean-spirited bigot into a somewhat-old-fashion-but-well-meaning and down-to-earth Garda in contrast Don Cheadle's modern no-nonsense approach. The obviously painful montage of Brendan being a lazy and irresponsible manchild should be replaced by Brendan and Don exchanging ideals, with Brendan becoming more considerate and Don being more open-minded to different approaches. They work together properly as a team in the climax of the movie and both explicitly survive than Brendan walking up and firing his gun like he how he was playing a light-gun game and may have survived in the end.

Oh! And Brendan Gleeson's character doesn't make a serious threat towards Pat Shortt's character before saying he was only joking in the same spiteful tone to make Pat look like an idiot.

These are the best ways to make The Guard into something genuinely interesting because the film as it is left me angry. No movie has ever felt so cringe-worthy, insulting or infuriating. It's been 6 years since I saw the film and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Brendan Gleeson is better than what he was giving to work with because I loved him in that film In Brudges with Colin Farrel.
