As he placed the goblin king's crystal key into the altar before him, ancient runes began to glow on the surface of the portal. The Questlords of Inverness had fallen too, obliterated by an infinity bomb which erased their existance from all of history. The Knights of Crail were once again defeated by the chaos wizard Tharon-Zul, while making a noble defense of the moon Phobos. Now only Angus McFife XIII and The Hootsman survived, preparing to make a final stand against the massed ranks of evil. Meanwhile on planet Earth, in the caverns beneath Dundee, a mysterious figure watched from the shadows as the evil sorcerer Zargothrax prepared to summon an evil being of unimaginable terror into the galaxy...

A flashlight (more often called a torch outside North America) is a portable hand-held electric light. The source of the light is usually an incandescent light bulb or light-emitting diode (LED). A typical flashlight consists of a light bulb mounted in a reflector, a transparent cover (sometimes combined with a lens) to protect the light source and reflector, a battery, and a switch. These are supported and protected by a case.

The invention of the dry cell and miniature incandescent electric light bulbs made the first battery-powered flashlights possible around 1899. Today flashlights use mostly incandescent lamps or light-emitting diodes and run on disposable or rechargeable batteries. Some are powered by the user turning a crank or shaking the lamp, and some have solar panels to recharge a battery.

In addition to the general-purpose hand-held flashlight, many forms have been adapted for special uses. Head or helmet-mounted flashlights designed for miners and campers leave the hands free. Some flashlights can be used underwater or in flammable atmospheres. Flashlights are used as a light source when in a place with no power.

Spotted dick is a British pudding, made with suet and dried fruit (usually currants and/or raisins) and often served with custard.

It is made from a flat sheet of suet pastry sprinkled with dried fruit, which is then rolled up into a circular pudding.[1]

The dish is first attested in Alexis Soyer's The modern Housewife or ménagère, published in 1849, in which he described a recipe for "Plum Bolster, or Spotted Dick—Roll out two pounds of paste ... have some Smyrna raisins well washed...". The Pall Mall Gazette reported in 1892 that "the Kilburn Sisters ... daily satisfied hundreds of dockers with soup and Spotted Dick".[2]

The name has long been a source of amusement and double entendres, to the point that the catering staff of Flintshire County Council decided in 2009 to rename it to "Spotted Richard" because of all the jokes they were receiving.[2] While "spotted" is a clear reference to the dried fruit in the pudding (which resemble spots), "dick" is more obscure. The word was widely used as a term for pudding in the 19th century; in late 19th century Huddersfield, for instance, a glossary of local terms described "Dick, plain pudding. If with treacle sauce, treacle dick."[2] It could alternatively be a corruption of the word pudding, evolving through puddink, then puddick, then finally dick. Another possibility is that it is a corruption of "dough".[1]
