Do you prefer crunchy or soft taco shells?

Soft for me. They have lower carbs (which is better for my diabetes) and they taste better imo. I do have to admit that Crunchy ones are far less messy but I still prefer soft.

I like to take a soft taco, put some refried beans on it, then put a hard shell on top and wrap it around the side and put everything else into the hard shell

hard shells are just over glorified tortilla chips. you can get the same taste with dipping a dorito into a bowl of beans without having an entire taco break in one bite. however soft shells are great because of how many options you have with it. It's fun to wrap food up and taste great in different ways of cooking. There's a reason why burritos, gyros, etc is soft blanket over a hard one
