Does millions of subscribers equate to power and influence?

YouTubers with over a million subscribers can expose said million to long forgotten games. I mean most of us already knew about the Super Famicom game Clock Tower but JonTron's video made the series better known to his impressionable audience. Even the most obscure games have a chance to have at least a dozen out of the millions to think hard about these games.

Popular YouTubers can also inform and influence how people see games. If PewDiePie defended a bad game and explain why said-game is actually good, then opinions on that game will change significantly.

What's your opinion?

media will always affect the opinions of the masses. if we're told that a game is bad without firsthand access to it then we are gonna believe that game is bad/good. fnaf is said to be the most "scariest game ever" which led to it's popularity despite the game being meh. it seems like indie games can only get popular through sheer luck if a YouTuber plays it and say "it's good". but if you're an indie game that doesn't have this luck then good luck getting noticed I guess. I hope indie games in the future can get popular in better ways than some guy saying it's good
