Well, this is turning out to be one hell of a year for my pets. Four months ago, I lost my dog Bailey to lung cancer, and now it looks like my cat went down the same road. A while back, she started having complications breathing and every once in a while she'd go into a coughing fit. We took her to the vet to find that her lungs were full of some kind of fuzzy stuff- cancer? A fungal infection? We weren't sure. We were given medication to give her for it, but no matter what we tried, Katie just refused to take her pills. Hide one in her food, she eats around it. Wrap one in a treat, she shakes it out. Hold her down and force feed it to her, she waits for us to let go then spits it out. We tried other methods, like putting medicine in a humidifier for her, but that didn't get us anywhere. Soon enough she began eating less and less and eventually stopped eating altogether. I guess she decided enough was enough and let herself die. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did, to be perfectly honest.

That's her on the left.
R.I.P Katie. You were always my favorite.
