Any of you guys experienced anything with this? I had my first one recently.
Met a friendly woman at the store. We made some small talk, and she took more interest in me when I mentioned being a student. She said she might have some good news for me and said something about me retiring in my late 20's and a bunch of other stuff. She was super vague about what to do for this job opportunity and said only a handful of people get in a year. It seemed kinda fishy to me and I didn't think anything would come from it, but I decided to see where she was going with it anyway. She said she was going to mention our conversation to her manager and that she would contact me later that week.
Eventually I get a phone call from her manager and she says that it's not a job opportunity, but "asset development" which I assume she used as a euphemism for pyramid scheme. She again mentions that I could retire in my 20's and that it's for successful people to make more money alongside another job, and that they hire people based on having good character. They really do like to talk a lot to overwhelm you with all kinds of information... She asks to meet me at a Panera Bread later that week. I ended up declining after the phone call, saying I had another job offer and that I will pass on this one. I only imagine that she would have told me I needed to pay money to join if I had met her at Panera.
tl;dr why do they always meet at panera bread
