the name of the game is MONSTERS AMONG US. It revolves around the main character, Chad Hillsburg. His family moves into a new house, where something left a button in his room. He, of course, presses it. The button drops him in the "Monster Realm"- a mirror of the real world where humans are replaced with monsters. and since the monster realm is a mirror world, the monsters are civilized. He wakes up in the room of Herc. Herc is a large, black and white cat man- with wings. He's only 16, but is quite tall for his age. Herc lets Chad stay with him. Herc introduces Chad to his friends- Luce (red, humanoid dragon) and Luna (bat lady). The game is chill in aspect- you just get to run around a town of monsters as the only human there. Plenty of choices. you can also hang out with the 3 main monsters (Luce, Herc, Luna) to know about them more. This goes on until the end of Act 1, where you guys go to the forest for a night. This is where Lumiose is introduced. Lumiose is a mass of black tendrils, all surrounding a glowing yellow eye. Lumiose isn't happy about a human being here. So Lumiose says he's gonna make sure you learn a lesson. He means it. Act 2 is when things get.. scary. In act 2, you start seeing graffiti around town, depicting Lumiose. There's also text graffiti saying "HE'S COMING BACK". You mention Lumiose to Luce, and he says it's a load of BS. Luna seems open to the concept. Herc freaks out. he rest of act 2 is a lot like Act 1, but talking to Luce about the piano in is garage brings up a sensitive subject for him. Act 2 ends with Luce going in forest, and not coming out for hours. You find him, but his leg is broken and he's scarred for life. Act 3 gets creepier. You see Lumiose in TVs, lamps, any source of light, he's there. The tendrils start forming a bridge. bridge leads into a luminescent cave known as "Hell's Lamp". Lumiose is there.. and this is where the murders are revealed. turns out Lumiose killed like 10 people for getting too close, one of them being Luce's missing girlfriend. Then...he tries to get YOU. the four guys run like hell, and barely make it. Lumiose says some scary stuff and then epilogue. in epilogue, you're back in the human realm. all you have in your room now is a photo of you with Luce, Luna, and Herc. Your ceiling light then flickers, and the screen goes black. Credits roll.

prologue (controls tutorial/button press)
act 1 (monster realm intro/meet characters)
act 2 (lore-based monster realm, lumiose introduced)
act 3 (lumiose is trying to kill you)
epilogue (back in human world, lamp acts up)

game would be in 2d, with basic 16 bit sprites of the characters and backgrounds. no voice acting obviously. i'm gonna try and make this over my summer break- so "development" starts early june. anybody think this is a good idea??
