That's going to take agreement between buyer and seller to be honest. Just because someone will buy a figure for a certain price, doesn't make it worth that. Good luck anyway.

Also, if you end up using ebay to get sold prices, just be careful with the shipping charges. That can really add up with individual figures.

You need to talk to your lawyer about this as there are a few ways to do this.

If you can afford it (probably cannot) you should hire an official appraiser to value all your stuff if you wanted to keep them. Someone that you both agree upon to fairly value the stuff and you'll pay her the half she is due. You may be allowed to do it yourself by checking ebay prices, printing tons of pages out as proof and making an inventory list of their recent sold value. That would take an incredible amount of time unless you can find a complete collection that sold recently which isn't too likely. In theory you could go for a super quick average value, you have 1000 figures and they typically sell for $5 on ebay, thus your collection is worth $5000. Try to underplay that you have some super rare and expensive onces. Either way there are lots of legal things to mind while doing this, so you really need to ask a divorce lawyer and come to an agreement with the other party before doing anything about assets. If you cannot come to an agreement, then it'll probably end up being court ordered to go to an auction house and selling for a fraction of what it's really worth and you both loose.

At best your Skylanders collection is probably realistically worth $4000 or so on ebay if you never took them out of their packages. You probably paid well over $10000+ but they devalued really quickly. You absolutely do not want to pay half of what you actually paid for them, so try to avoid that. At an auction house, you'll be lucky to get $500-$1000 for your collection unless two people knows what they are bidding on. But the auctioning system is generally the only way to get a "fair" value when there is a disagreement over it. So it's something you need to convince them is in their best interest to come to some agreement as to their worth and pay whatever she feels is fair or else you'll loose your collection to some eBay flipper for next to nothing for you both.

Absolutely do not go rushing off to selling it to someone you know who would then sell it back to you later. That happens a lot but there are usually standing court orders to forbid your selling anything and you'll get into a bunch of trouble. All you can do is get their current worth and have the court accept it.

Honestly most collections are not worth fighting over their value so they may cave in on a cheap price just to expedite matters. Lawyers are $250ish an hour or so and fighting over collections tends to just eat up expensive lawyer time, so it's not in her best interest to fight over it either. Best is to just come to an agreement on fair value and just pay it. Pray that she's not a total b*tch where she will force you to sell them for whatever price just to spite you.
