I considered retail, which would fit this perfectly, i could see myself on a checkout till chatting away but i probably wouldn't get the job done lol.

I will assume you are searching for entry-level positions.
Wanna be social? Retail on the floor. For superstores that carry essentials and beyond you can stand out from the crowd by being outgoing with your guests.* Whoopee, you suddenly like your job!

A bit more in the shell? Backroom/warehouse work. Very low profile, you can probably jam out to some tunes, and you may land a few very good pals back there. Swimming in dough and seclusion... A++++. *snap* nice. If you really want that sense of seclusion consider overnight shifts.

*Touching upon the first paragraph I work at a brick and mortar computer store. As a hybrid of a salesman/knowledge advisor (as per my braggable score on the newhire assessment) I am encouraged to get personal with all I meet, use personable etiquette and dedicate my idle time to making someone's day. Here's the really good part: off the clock you now have some damn good friends, +5 INTELLIGENCE, and a drive to go back to work the next day and the day after that, and so on!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've applied for a few receptionist jobs, but they haven't replied yet smilie

I might have to cast my net further and look at some waiter jobs, i just hope i could do it because it's not as easy as they make it look.

Don't wait for them to call you back, go in or call and ask if they've looked at your application yet and when the best time would be to speak with a manager/office director.
