I've never played the 3ds versions of the games but I'll be playing them shortly and I was just wondering, do you have to have the 3D function turned on or can you have it turned off when you play?

Also, 3ds consoles are not recommended for younger children and their developing eyes, but if games can be played with the 3D function turned off, then is there any difference in terms of eye-strain between a 2ds and a 3ds?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect anything in the games(unless you have no experience with third-person 3D plataformers but even then the games are easy to master), so you probably can turn it off whenever you want without issue.

You can have it either turned on or off, and you can change the level of depth with the 3DS slider. There's no difference in eye-strain from a 2DS or a 3DS with 3D turned off. If 3D becomes an issue with the child, you can turn off the 3D completely in the parental controls.

Thanks for the feedback looks like a 3DS might be suitable for the family then.
