Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Assuming this applies to a hot dog in a bun, should it be formally categorized as a sandwich? Discuss.

Nonsense! A hot dog is just a hot dog - some oblong meat resting between two cushy buns. And what about the questionable corn dog?

Now a burger is much more sandwich-like.

Incorrect, as a bun is a single piece bread it's just cut like that
if you tore a bun in half THEN you will have 2 pieces of bread

therefor a hot dog isnt a sanwhich
