For anyone living in NSW in Australia I'm sure you all know about the HSC exams.
Well guess what. I didn't realise that my art exam was on for today because I swear on my life that the last time I checked it was scheduled for the 2nd of November (which would be tomorrow). I remember clearly because it is Ossy's birthday tomorrow and I distinctly remember that her birthday was placed on the most inconvenient day because I was planning on drawing her something. BUT NO the damned exam was on today and I completely missed it. I went to check the timetable about an hour ago to see what time I should get to school for the exam tomorrow to be faced with the rude shock that it actually finished an hour before I checked.
I hate myself so much right now.
I studied so hard for it too and now I've completely blown my chances of getting a good mark in that subject. I planned the whole essay out and everything.
****.
There goes getting into university I suppose ...
I suck, can someone just ****ing end me now.

There's no shame in ranting if you need to get that off your chest.
Doubt the same applies there, but have you tried talking about doing a project to compensate the grades or something? I've freaked out my fair share of times over missed tests and schoolwork, but teachers are always willing to let me do something to get at least part of the full grade since I never skip classes or mess around.

Eh, the HSC is a bit more complicated then that. Not sure if it's national, but it's certainly state wide and it's a no-mess-around system. If you miss a test you get zero marks for that test, unless you apply for a misadventure and it actually gets upheld by the committee. Usually that's for like an illness on the day that'll prevent you from completing the test ... I don't know how misreading the exam timetable will go ...
Oh man... I'm going to go up to the school to sort it out today because I found out too late yesterday. No one was available at the school to talk to. I don't think I'll be able to re-sit the test or anything because the test has already been released and I think that once that happens you can't re-sit it for fears of the questions getting leaked out.
But hey you two, thank you so much for the support and suggestions. It really helps me out, considering my family's complete lack of it. :I
I feel like such an idiot.

I might sound like a uncomphrehending dick for this, what can you do? Just learn from this experience and don't do it again. Just go with the flow.

Don't stress over it now. Just sort out when and if you can do it again.
Just go with the flow

Hey don't worry, you don't sound like a dick, it's fine. And that's very true. I suppose there is nothing that I can do now .. heh.
We've gone up to the school this morning and there might be something we can do ... but the chances of that happening are pretty slim. I'm not able to re-sit it for sure though because the board fears that I may have the answers. :I

But again you guys, thanks so much for the support.
I'm a lot more calm about it now that we've tried to sort it out. I don't think we can change anything now, but yeah, what can we do? >.<

I know, the situation really sucks right now. I don't think we can do anything about it now anyway, so I guess I'm just going to have to deal with it. Shame I can't re-sit it, but at least 50% of my final mark comes from the practical side so I won't get an absolute fail ...
I only have myself to blame though. I should have checked the timetable on Monday and not relied on my memory from a few weeks ago..

But thanks so much Big Green, I didn't realise you follow me over there! It's so nice to hear you say that, especially because I'm feeling a bit down about it at the moment. >.<'
I'm hoping on the chance that if I need to apply for university I can rely on my portfolio. Eh, I guess we'll have to wait and see next year.

Then focus on your portfolio tons to compensate, then. Maybe get into some projects to add more to it? I can't speak for myself since my art course is crazy modern-oriented(so they ignored my portfolio big time) and I got in because of the weird pratical tests, but if you can say you helped out someone else's work it's a big plus.

iirc you can get into a large number of universities solely with a good portfolio in nsw, your art is definitely awesome enough for it to work out
