No matter how many of know and learn from the worst atrocities from human history. Slavery, war, genocide. All these horrible things. Some people never learn and will repeat these atrocities as if they should happen like a cycle.

The life I live is really good and even when I will gain more responsibility, I want to still live this life I have. The luxury to do simple things like walking by myself alone with no but my thoughts. It's really good. I'm happy. Yet I feel that luxury will be cruelly and abruptly taken away from me by people who want to repeat the very worst acts mankind has committed. They're just yearning for another war and give in to their worst instincts when consequences uphold will be destroyed. The worst thing about this is any resurgence of such horror is beyond our control. This is like a real life cosmic horror story.

Is it too much to ask that we be left alone so we can all grow old and die? Apparently so. Maybe I shouldn't say this world is rotten, rather the people living this world is rotten.

(Sorry if this sounded pretentious. I tried to make it as blunt and simple as I can.)

If it is any consolation, it's not that this world or it's people were "inherently evil" or anything. Lives are ruled by necessity, and acts like war and slavery are (often misguidedly) committed for benefit. I know of no human being who would do others harm for the sake of fulfilling some evil desire.

Personally, I wouldn't rely too much on values and political views either. Not only do they change drastically with time, but there is an agenda behind every single one, and -in the end- behind every agenda is an individual (or group of individuals) looking for personal gain.

I know it's not a lot to go on, but life is rough all-around. Other animals fight for survival every single day. We're lucky to have developed this level of comfort.

We are the most unpredictable, and also the most predictable at the same time. We are self-aware, constatly evolving, growing species. But we still are a pack animal. We need a leader. It's the nature of us. We aren't rotten. The world isn't rotten. We are young, stupid and constatly growing out of that stupidity.

Yes...?

It's a lot more than just some people not wanting to happily prance around in meadows of flowers forever. That'd be nice but that's not how it works.
