Huh... Looks decent actually.

I like the N64 style the most.

It looks like floaty. I might try it if theres ever a demo.

Even the music is Spyro-esque with how the guitar plays.

I wouldn't mind playing it. It looks a lot better than Deo.

I quite like this. It's about time someone cashed in on the look of early 3D.

I've been following the game very closely and feel very bad about the situation. I guess it's just not a good time for 3D platformers on kickstarter anymore, Especially after the failure of Yooka-Laylee, people probably feel that Playtonic has let them down with a mediocre 3D platformer, and not trust KickStarter projects.

Which is sad. Given that I agree with Drawdler's points, it's nice to have a N64 inspired 3D Platformer (which I think has become to much of a fad for indie games) It is especially nice to see a Playstation inspired 3D in such a way that Griff presents itself.

Well I hope that Griff the Winged Lion does what Clive n' Wrench has done. After two failed Kickstarters, that game has managed to chug along just fine and has improved mighty well. Clive n Wrench will release soon, and I hope Griff keeps remaining in development.

I don't think it's either; people are tired of the faux retro style on indies. People used to praise that but I don't go a day looking at discussions of game art and not finding someone snarking about this kind of style. It's just way too niche.

That said... Ouch. That's a really small goal, they didn't deserve so little. 45 backers is what you get from Kickstarter Nonstarters on Retsupurae, not a genuinely alright game.

I Agree, I tend to make sure that my game doesn't try to look retro

and yeah, its bad. they deserve a little more.

I found this just the other day and it still puzzles me. I mean I've seen so many bad Kickstarters get loads of funding even when they have nothing to show. Griff is obviously made by competent people and they've proven that they can do what they're promising, but it still gets almost nothing...

I sat down and watched it die.

It was kinda sad, really.

I don't want to close the topic just yet though, I want to see what happens with this, will it pull a Clive n' Wrench? Will it continue, despite the KickStarter? Will we ever receive, this decent, unique game?

I left a comment on the main Youtube video Trailer, and anticipate a response from Jake Pawloski.

They're nearly at the old amount already, so thankfully people are allowing them to have a second chance : D The presentation looks much better already too, so it seems like it's a matter of keeping the pace with marketing and word of mouth.

Had I known there'd been a second one, I'd have contributed something to it. The game looks fantastic, not sure why I've not seen a single bit of coverage since the failure of the first one. I do hope they're able to put it up on Steam speedily, and not be hindered by Steam Direct.
