We all know of that infamous elevator scene from the hit 1997 anime due to much of the budget being blown on crazy animation.
(Surprisingly hard to find the original clip without comparisons, fan dubs or edits)
Family Guy is as guilty of dragging out a single frame for nearly a few minutes if not more-so, especially with how much Seth wants the fans to REALLY like Conway Twitty. (No thanks. We're good with Johnny Cash.)
Whereas a lot of anime and old Hanna Barbara cartoons were given limited budget to make use of, Seth MacFarlene likely chose to do this just to blow the remaining budget on big action scenes.
These kind of scenes (along with building up one ridiculous plot and dropping for a lamer one,) makes me wonder question where Seth's priorities lie.
I can forgive the likes of Evangelion, Utena and Attack on Titan for repeating stuff over and over but not Seth.
