I've had a growing interest with the Elder Scrolls series ever since Oblivion. I saw that this forum didn't really have an Elder Scrolls topic, so I decided to make one Feel free to post anything Elder Scrolls related here~

Almost forgot: One of the main reasons I made this topic was to talk about the new Skyrim: Special Edition coming out I honestly have to say I'm pumped about it. Skyrim with console mod support? Fantastic.

just a reminder that oblivion is 10 years old this year

Is this unrelated, but is anyone excited or willing to share thoughts on the Skyrim mod Skywind? It'll probably be available to play with the Skyrim: Speacil Edition, whenever it's ready to play, of course.

10 years?! Time certainly goes by.. Oblivion was great, I'd love for it to be backwards compatible in the near future

Personally I liked Skyrim better. Don't get me wrong, Oblivion is a fantastic game, but I believe that Skyrim did a little bit better with the game mechanics. (Leveling up for example. I legit had to ask my friend how to level up in Oblivion xD)

So instead of a new ES game, we're getting a HD "Remake" of the one that came out only about 4-5 years ago, and will probably look exactly the same because graphics haven't really advanced all that much since 2011.


Well at least I'll be able to enjoy the "Updated GraffX" when my face is 2cms away from the screen.

Skyrim Special Edition has the potential to sell better than GTA V if it plays its cards right Skyrim was probably the best selling games of its time. Not to mention that Skyrim introduced a bunch of people to Elder Scrolls. Now that it's getting a remake with console mods?! That's crazy, and sure people are saying "It's just updated graphics.." Based on the trailers at E3 it looks BEAUTIFUL lol

To be fair, making an update to Skyrim shouldn't take that much time out of Oblivion's schedule, and apparently they're making a 7th game as well. So I realize I was being a bit of a dick when I wrote that last comment.

though I remember discovering the Dark Brotherhood, which was fun.

Also the thing about getting into the thieves guild. I think there was some kind of competition you had to do.

I liked the Companions questline, but I'd have to say I liked the Thieves Guild/Mages Guild more. (I can't pick one, I love them both equally )

Hey gang. I'm bumping this because ELDER SCROLLS 6 WAS ANNOUNCED. Thus far, I've heard that it's taking place in Hammerfell, which I'm personally pumped for.

I'm affectionately calling it The Elder Scrolls VI: Hopefully Hammerfell until we get a location or name confirmation, haha

I would have been cool with Black Marsh or Valenwood too. Maybe Akavir. But Redguards have some cool lore behind them that Hodd Toward has neglected to explore.

On my latest Skyrim run I'm playing as a Redguard for the first time, and I've just absolutely fallen in love with them! I'm also wearing 'Hammerfell Garb' all the time, however impractical that is, hehe. That's why I'd like to see Hammerfell! Redguard province = more badass Redguard clothing, right?!

I don't mind too much, though. Black Marsh is supposed to be quite inhospitable, and Valenwood has cannibals if I remember correctly? So either of those would be interesting.
