The irony of Keiji Inafune [CLOSED]

Back 2009, Keiji Inafune once said the Japanese gaming industry was 5 years behind, lack diversity in games and was just in a really bad position. He probably generalised the entire country after Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII, both of them being cinematic with many cut-scenes, bore-bones in their core mechanics and being very linear.

In the current year... (Ha ha. Get it?)

We have Dark Souls, the Persona games, MGSV, the Yakuza series, the Dynasty Warriors formula applied to many well known games and anime for fun and fanservice, loads of cool Nintendo games and even Final Fantasy XV is looking well-shaped up. I think the Japanese gaming industry is doing great...

But that hasn't stopped Inafune from saying that Mighty No. 9 would beat them all and make the Japanese game industry great again.

After several delays, graphical downgrades, bad design choices and worse marketing, Mighty No. 9 looks like an Xbox Live Arcade game from 2009, though that wouldn't fair towards XBLA games that came at the time. Overall...

Like an anime fan on prom night.
