ok so after a bit of research i have found names of demons in ANB such as Dante from "Dante's freezer" and Malek one of the fire dragons from the upgrade screen also Malek was a "god" who people worshiped and sacrafised thier children to the golden minator so what do you guys think of the names of demons appearing in TLOS?

P.s. Atlawa was some sort of water "god"

As far as I know, Dante (Dante Alighieri) is a Renaissance poet who wrote The Divine comedy in which he describes his journey to Hell, Purgatory and Heaven.

well when i serched on wikipedia two of the websites out of six said Dante was a demon.

So? what does it matter? they are just names

yes but this make me think that my grandma was right about Spyro being evil because he's a dragon and she thinks that Spyro is the devil. she also thought that Ignitus was the devil because of his red color.

Well, i could imagine him evil, but not a devil......

My parents think that everything I like is "evil", such as Pokemon, because of certain colors or animals (like Moltres being a fire bird.) and I turned out just fine! Well not exactly fine...
Spyro isn't evil, he's saving the world isn't he? Ignitus is red because his element is fire; many people like to color charaters based off their element.
If apes are "demons" then that wouldn't be so bad- we are kicking there butts, not become allies with them.

um....dragons aren't demons. Demons are like gargoyles. Not dragons. and the apes are just monkey ghosts in DotD.

^ Old European mythology, more like Greek mythology. Gorgons, hydras, anything with serpents are symbolically evil back then.

If you want to check if something is evil, then look at what values it has.

Evil cannot be found in symbols. Not in colors, not in shapes, not even in names. Why not? Because symbols have to be taught.

Look at the swastika. The nazi cross. Nobody will use it now, because the nazis used it. But before WW2, it wasn't a sign of bad things. It was a sign of the sun. In other words, the only reason we think it's bad now is because we know history. We weren't born with the knowledge that the swastika is evil.

Likewise, a dragon is only evil if you were taught so. Until then, it can mean anything to you. Clearly, torok, your grandmother has been taught, or taught herself, that dragons are evil. Then they are evil to her. That's her bad. But they are not evil to you.

I am not saying that you have a greater tolerance for evil. I'm saying that evil is never incarnate in a video game, so "evil or not" is all about opinions in this case.

So, back to the first line. Values define good and evil. If something has bad values, and you find out, then you'll learn that it is evil. But if something has good values, then it is good, even if it carries symbols that other people say are evil. And when I say values, I mean how they treat others and what they believe in.

Like if someone hadn't heard about WW2, so they put on a swastika and help people. Many would yell at them and call them evil because of the symbol, but this person is really good all through.

This kind of thing is why we had witch hunts in the middle ages.

Spyro is a good guy, and he inspires the same goodness in us.

i agree that Spyro is good but ever since my grandma saw me playing ANB she said right away that Spyro is lucifer and she gave me a speech on how i shouldnt be playing Spyro because Spyro is unclean or evil and that if i play Spyro i am working for lucifer (And i HATE him.) because in the game i "Kill and destroy things and breath fire" i just ignored her and continued playing but the thought that Spyro is lucifer still scares me but i know that Spyro isnt evil and Father Barr (my priest) said it was alright for me to be playing Spyro as long as you'r not killing humans my grandma overreacted alot but it's not her fault.

Why can't you decide for yourself what's wrong and what's right?
You don't have to listen to your grandma or your priest.

i know and i didnt stop playing Spyro after she told me that Spyro is evil i just ignored her but she kept saying "Your working for the devil and dragons are evil..."
