That's right! With the recent news of Nintendo going into the film business and Shrek joining Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U, we should have known something was coming. Nintendo has bought Dreamworks!
Dreamworks will be handling all the future Nintendo Cinematic Universe (NCU) films, spinning off of an animated remake of the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, starring the original cast in their respective voice roles. Other films in the NCU's announced lineup are The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, and Punch-Out! They all culminate to the shared universe Shrek in Super Smash Bros, starring Mario, Link, Pikachu, and now Shrek!
This also opens up the possibility of new Dreamworks Smash characters joining, such as Barry Benson, Po, and Skipper the Penguin!
Shrek DLC for Smash will release alongside Shrek in Super Smash Bros on Fall 10th!
