New World of Warcraft movie comes out June 10th.

it's gonna be the dungeons and dragons movie.

all i want is an elder scrolls movie, man. maybe they could try that time.

I'm seeing it, if only so that it can make enough money for Blizzard to consider an Overwatch movie. I suggest that everyone who wants that to happen go see this movie as well!

It looks like a generic fantasy movie with ogres. Although I really want giant Kung Fu Pandas. Yeah that would be great.

My booty is gonna be in the theatre the day it comes out, baby.

Shame I won't be in a theatre when it comes, but I'm gonna find a way to watch it "For Azeroth!"

At worst it'll be mediocre. At best it'll be pretty good.

I imagine with Angry Birds having fallen to 42% (being the second highest rated video game movie, I believe?), Warcraft should be able to beat that. It's a safer bet to score in the 50s-60s range.

Assassin's Creed is a wild card in that it could go really well or really terribly. No middle ground.

From what I read, the Angry Birds movie is horrifically bad. Depending on bad jokes befitting that of a Happy Madison production, desperate on the puns (Kevin BACON in HAMLET because pigs) and messages that either consistent and contradictory or just plain offensive. And the movie was financed by Rovio, much like Andrew Lloyd Webber financed the 2004 Phantom of the Opera movie.

As for AssCreed... You've read about Ubisoft trying to implement pre-orders into tickets like with their games and most the film takes place in the modern setting. Financial-wise, FOX has sent it to die against the next Star Wars film just like with Alvin and the chipmunks to the one before it.

Hey, even if Ubisoft TRIED to make this a bad movie, no one deserves to be compared to Alvin and the Chipmunks just yet.

42% on RT suggests that it's not horribad but nothing special and a mixed bag. The humor definitely doesn't seem like something for me but I'll probably check it out someday to see how the whole thing adds up.

Preordering movie tickets has been a thing for years now (I mean hell I went to a Broadway show with Kitty a little while ago and you were allowed to preorder drinks so you can bypass the line at intermission). Ubisoft is not the first to take advantage of it.

And I'm still convinced that unless the film has a budget of over $100 mil even before marketing it won't necessarily bomb unless it's a really bad movie. Rogue One is going to dominate the box office in that time period but it won't be the behemoth Force Awakens was.
