For me it's the idea that Kakyoin is just made useless by Araki. What happened to the art powers, what happened to the body possession stuff? And when he comes back as the "New" Kakyoin, all we learn is hat he's good at video games and then he dies trying to reveal the secret of The World. I mean, at least Avdol's disappearance/not doing anything makes sense in context, Araki didn't want to bring him back, so why do anything more with him? Kakyoin is just boring and a huge source of wasted potential.
