Hey don't blame the guy, blame the idiots who think choosing 4th place truly represebnts the bigger opinion. Naming a submarine Boaty not only is no compromise, now it makes no sense because it's not a boat.

Firstly why is it David's fault when he isn't the one that changed the name?

Secondly why on Earth did you think that name was actually going to stick? "Because it was chosen by popular vote!" yeah but people were clearly immature about it and it's been proven multiple times in the past (see: Dew example above) that giving a voting thing like this to the internet is going to lead to stupid results.
You can't go with an offensive or stupid name purposefully as a joke, and then whine and cry calling democracy dead when the people in charge decide it might not be fitting to actually use that suggestion.

The bigger surprise would've been if they went through with the name.

I still love how Monsoon pretty much predicted internet fate since it was exactly the year when ironic meming got big. Before it was viral videos, inside jokes,but rarely memes of memes.

Oh boy I hope you weren't taking me seriously lol. I know naming a drink "Hitler did nothing wrong" would be an absolute PR disaster.
