Name: Katrina Noir
Age: 28
Race: unknown but appears to be human
Appearance: Katrina has one red eye and one blue eye. Her hair is a dirty blonde that she ties up almost constantly. She is curvy and wears some tech armor; black with blue or red glow on the trim. She wears a bandanna around her neck that seems to have some sort of sentimental value since she is so defensive of it. She has pouches all over her tech armor as well.
Personality: She is serious and determined on her set goal. Her outer personality is cold and to the point. She is blunt with people and does what she wants even if its a bad idea. Some where deep inside she is kind and caring -probably the only reason why she is helping the village-. At times she goes out of her way to help others.

[Oh, hey, you're back!]

Name: Specimen 4-20 (nicknamed "Audrey")
Age: unknown
Race: Plant
Appearance: Audrey is a somewhat large flower with long, blood red petals lined with what look disturbingly like fangs. His stem is covered in thorns and spiky poisonous-looking leaves. His petals usually stay closed, but they do bloom occasionally, and seem to function as a sort of "mouth". A pair of black tentacles protrudes from the center of the flower, and its aroma is similar to that of rotting flesh.
Personality: As a plant, there's not much to him personality-wise. He exists solely to eat and grow. Audrey does seem to exhibit some signs of intelligence, however, and seems to have a sense of loyalty to his caretakers.
Backstory: A mysterious plant that was recovered from the Waste, Specimen 4-20 was placed under observation in hopes that its properties could lead to benefits of some kind. Some of the villagers swear that he keeps cropping up in different places every day...
Position in the village: Experimental subject

Name: Experiment Z3-U5 ("Zeus")
Age: Unknown
Race: Bio-engineered chimera
Appearance: Zeus's body normally looks akin to that of a hulking, muscular human, covered in a dusting of brown fur. Long black horns that sweep back from and jut forth from his canid head, and clawed digits tip his humanlike hands and bestial, digitigrade feet. A mane of brilliant orange 'hair' sweeps around his head, as well as tufts on his wrists, ankles, and outer thighs. A similar fur trail leads from the middle of his chest downward, and at the tip of his thin, leonine tail. He isn't often seen wearing clothes, as they inhibit his shapeshifting, and his body lacks the organs that most conceal with clothing
Personality: Generally doesn't care much for subtlety. He cares deeply about those who have shown him kindness, and eagerly jumps to defend those who he believes have been wronged.
Backstory: Found sealed away in the ruins of a cryogenics lab by some raiders, this bioengineered weapon has recently awoken for the first time since the war he was designed for, with very little memory of his previous life. This brute seemed to take quickly to learning the villages' languages and ways.

Name: Evan Phytos
Age: 20
Race: Plant-human hybrid
Appearance: Evan looks like a fairly ordinary human being. If you ignore the fact that he has vines and leaves sprouting from random parts of his body, at least. He's able to retract these at will. Evan is tall, lanky, with a light tan and a head of dark green shaggy hair. His eyes are a vivid bright green. His normal attire consists of a ragged t-shirt and tattered denim shorts.
Personality: Evan can seem like a bit of an uncanny guy, due in part to his reclusive nature, preferring the company of his fellow flora to most other races. He has a deep-rooted passion for nature and seeing it destroyed or violated is enough to break his chlorophyll-powered heart. Evan's not very savvy on most customs or behaviors that the village deems "normal"- relatively speaking, of course. He also has a short temper and tends to get violent when enraged. But if you can get past all that, Evan makes an amiable, loyal companion- if a bit of an unusual one -that will stick by his friends' side until he drops dead.
Backstory: As a child, Evan was recovered from the Waste under the assumption that he was an ordinary human in need of refuge. He was proven anything but ordinary, however, when it was discovered that he could "talk" with the local foliage and control them. It turned out that he serves as a host for a sort of mutated plant that had been genetically altered thanks to radioactive fallout, and the two had developed a sort of symbiotic relationship with each other.
Position in the village: Botanist and gardener.

Name: Ombre
Age: Human equivalent of 23
Race: "Dragon" (no fire-breathing, limited flight power, and much smaller)
Appearance: Ombre looks like a komodo dragon, but her scales are a deep blue and she has massive wings on her back that are incapable of being folded entirely. She is about the size of an eagle. Her hind feet have massive "thumb" claws that scrape the ground wherever she walks.
Personality: Ombre is capable of thinking and rationing, but she reacts on instinct. She also has a hard time understanding figurative language, and will put things bluntly. Most insults and saying end up going over her head, because she takes them literally.
Backstory: Ombre's species, a cave-dwelling species commonly known as false dragons but officially called aegaos. There, her brashness was considered just as inappropriate, but it could be balanced out by bravery. In Ombre's case, she was sent to explore outside of their cavern home. Ombre was startled by the bright light and started running without any sense of direction. When her eyes adjusted to the bright light, she was lost. Ombre eventually found shelter—on a ship making one last stop on its course to Earth.
Position in the village: Hunter and anything else that doesn't require interaction with anyone.
More on aegaos: Most aegaos can fold their wings entirely, but some have a (recessive) mutation that prevents them from folding their wings entirely. It's like having stones between the base of your fingers, only less removable and feels less weird. As another example: this shows how most aegaos fold their wings. Some, like Ombre, have trouble getting past the first step because their wingbones can't touch. Not exactly ideal for small dragonlike creatures that live in caves! The wings are mainly used for assisted jumps, but if placed in an open area, they can stay airborne for about 10 minutes before they land.

Name: Victor D, Jekyll, But he just introduces himself as Jekyll

Race:Human.
Appearance: Tall, lean, long black hair, unshaven face, one red eye on his right side. one blue on his left. he often wears his speial goggles or has them in a mask. and his face covered by a cloth if he it is goggles only.


Personality: He is Bright, always willing to help out. and will throw himself in danger for the sake of another. however sometimes, he is cruel, when angered, he will be borderline sadistic, uncaring, and deadly.

Backstory:As a child, Jekyll searched for a purpose. and when he was of age, his father gave him his first riffle. from there he knew he had his purpose, he would practice and practice, making sure his aim was true. whenever a trader came by he would get one of two things, tech, or bullets, and when he very rarely could afford tech, but he saved, saved since he was 13 for a set of things, a scope, and goggles, these things would connect to each other, feeding each other information, if his cross hairs were adjusted, wind speed, distance, sway compensation. he finally got the pair, and he integrated the goggles into a mask. he had been working day and night for these. he was excited, he was upset when he could not go on the first gathering, and then he was glad he didnt. but now more than ever he wants to prove his work was worth it, that every minute of practice and scouting, gathering, was worth it. to prove his metal in the wasteland.
Position in the village: Scout and Defensive sniper.

Name: Marcus Silvertongue
Age: 33
Race: Sergal
Appearance: Marcus has a deep blue coat of fur covering his body, with a faint white stomach and undertail. His eye, along with his left arm(to shoulder) is highly advanced cybernetics, presumably home-modified. Many other cybernetic patches litter his body, although they can only be seen if his fur is parted. His organic eye is a sharp sky blue, and he has several piercings littering his large fluffy ears. Like most sergals of his kind, he keeps a slightly modest appearance, wearing pants, usually worn or holy. Sometimes he even covers his torso, although that is very rare as he likes freedom while he works. He also likes to show off his pecs. He still wears his military equipment though. Over his bare chest. Because he can. And there isn’t a higher up to yell at him about formality.
Personality: Marcus is very… quirky. He is brash, friendly, flirtatious, and very open. He loves to tell stories of his past or just make up tales on a whim to entertain. He may be a high-ranking military scout with millions of secrets, but he wouldn’t miss a chance to talk with someone new.
Backstory: Not much to say about Marcus’s past. Not much that CAN be said, due to all the secrecy he has been sworn to keep. He got into his “line of work” at a very young age, his father being someone with a lot of sway where he comes from. He has been around the wasted continent and has many intresting things marked on his personal map. Don’t worry, he’ll probably show you.
Position in the village: Newcomer. Looking for lodging/place to lay low for a while.

Kat looked over the group after you all had come back with the supplies you would have gathered for the journey out of the village. "Now when we go out there there is a chance many of you could die, i will try and help as best as i can but i am looking for something also and i will not carry you, you must be able to carry your own out there." She flipped half of the scarf over her shoulder. "I will not bring bodies back and if you cannot move, we will have to put you down." She looked a few up and down as if guessing who would die and who would live. "Now what i need out of you all is to help me find is a group of collectors, their leader wears red and black a helmet and cloak. When we find them, I no longer need assistance. But if you wish me to escort you back to the village you will have to stick around longer." Kat crossed her arms and glanced at Zeus giving him a small smile before going back to talking. "Do you all understand?"

"Yes Ma'am," Jekyll was all to happy to leave, his father was a military type, but he never talked about it. but he knew he couldnt stay in this town. he was excited, and his trigger finger was itching to take on some bandits, or anything that would get in his cross-hairs. his mask was down as usual, after this he planned on doing mercenary work perhaps. maybe just wander... anything but stare at the same spot with his scope or shoot the same targets he always did. he turned on the link between his scope and goggles, strongly thinking now to take it off. "the heat is not worth the protection, or the aesthetic." he thought to himself. he took off the mask to see the group, taking out the goggles from the mask he placed them on his forehead and turned off the link. "im prepped and ready to go." the mask now hung on his belt loop, at least until he needed something a little more protective.

"It's not okay to kill me," Ombre growled. "Kill anyone else, but not me." She opened her mouth to say more, but before she said anything her horns shot up and she pounced on a rustling patch of grass. After some struggling, she ran back over to the group with a bloody rabbit in her jaws. She dropped in on the ground in front of Kat. "Maybe you make better decisions when you aren't hungry?" she suggested.

"Yes, of course..." Evan absentmindedly agreed, more focused on pawing at the dirt beneath his feet. There wasn't really much he needed as far as supplies went; he could survive almost entirely on sunlight alone. He'd long since given up trying to understand Katrina. Most of the other villagers he knew, he could make some sense of, but Kat was a complete mystery to him. He extended his arm, which stretched and grew green and leafy, and his fingers followed suit, creeping out into little green tendrils as he reached up and plucked an apple from a nearby tree. He took a bite of it, licking his lips as he savored the taste of the sweet, juicy fruit. "Nature always provides the best gifts to her children" he whispered to himself.

"You are... understood, and you shouldn't need to worry about me." the large, brutish looking creature replied, his glistening gold eyes fixed on Kat's own as he gave a confident nod. 'Zeus', as the beast had been known by, was rather perplexing, often quiet and thoughtful around others, yet blunt with his words when he finally spoke, he often took to the scarred woods to hunt alone, bringing the part of his bounty he hadn't consumed for the others to cook and partake in.

Kat glared at Ombre for a second her blue eye flooded deep red but in dissipated within seconds. "Then lets get going. I dont have much time to spend on this excursion. We will stop here to return the things then you all will come help me as agreed." She said gesturing towards the waste behind her.

Jekyll noticed and gulped, he thought to himself "Probably a bad idea to mention it, this is one lady I shouldnt piss off" without a word he put his goggles down, slung his riffle on his back, and started bringing stuff back. He didnt know what it was, but something about this lady scared him, he barely knew her, been led once to scavenge, and although he was more than ready to leave... He knew this was not going to be an easy journey.

Kat picked up a bag and put it on. "Ready or not we are leaving now." she said seriously. She waited before moving looking to Zeus as if waiting for him, contradicting what she had just previously said.

"Okay," Evan said, hefting a club fashioned from a tree branch. It didn't look like he had much to carry with him.

picking up his riffle and checking his ammo supply he smiled. "Yes. Ma'am, locked and loaded." he ejected a used shell and reloaded a new round in and put the safety on. putting his gogles down he checked his connection. "Forty rounds, one bowey knife, riffle is clean and the connection is good, I have necesary supplies in my bag, at least enough to last a week before scavenging... im ready" the thoughts raced through his head but he stepped up to Kat and gave a nod. "where to first?"

Zeus's fierce eyes locked with Kat's yet again, followed by a nod, however, this one seemed more purposeful, as if he was trying to say something to Kat without words. He was well aware of the true goal of the mission, beyond the immediate objective, however, he was hesitant to say a word on the matter.

"Come now, or stay." he said, walking towards Kat only to gesture back to the others to follow. "Your choice."

Kat lead the march out of the small village and into the waste they went. They had walked for a few hours, the noon air was hot and the further they went into the waste the dryer and hotter it got. There was a general lack of life and a lack of breze which only mad the heat worse. Though if there was the occasional breeze it would do nothing but push hot air at you and throw sand in your eyes. Even in the heat Kat was wearing her cloak and trecking on with no issue.

Jekyll took a sip from a canteen, what little clean water he could bring, he offered it around, unsure if anyone had brought any for themselves, although it would be mighty foolish if they didnt. he had his goggles down, and would occasionally put up the scope and search the horizon for anything. turuning on and off the connextion as needed. "huh... its quiet."

"Theres nothing alive out here to make sound." Kat responded looking over her shoulder at the boy.

Evan slowly nodded his head, examining a beetle in his hand with admiration. "It's a miracle anything can survive in such a harsh climate," he muttered. "Even in the most dire of situations, life finds a way." He then followed this statement by snapping the beetle up, its hardy carapace crunching between his teeth. The bug wasn't the prettiest thing on earth, but it was a good source of protein.

"uh sound ma'am?" jekyll realized he couldnt see anything in the distance and put the riffle down and turned off the connection. looking at the strange creatures around him, he wondered how they were made, they made him nervous. he had never seen anything like them in his life. he was from such a small settlement, the wierdest thing he would see would be the odd dehydrated meats some traders brought in he decided to keep his distance when one of them ate the beetle. looking back at the woman who led them. "its rare that I get sent out to scav anything ((scavenge)) sorry if i seem a little jumpy." he glanced to the lizard man and tried not to stare. as for the plant, well, that was just something that jekyll couldnt quite wrap his mind around.

"Mister mutated aegao," Ombre growled to Icestorm, "some people have to eat. Don't tell me you only eat stuff that attacks you, because you'll starve to death." With that, she lowered her head and snapped up another beetle. "I'm sure you can remove a piece of your perfect no eating innocent animals soul and just try it. Beetles are quite delicious."

"Its alright, you'll soon learn that true humans are becoming rare to extinct out here."She said patting his shoulder kindly. "And those that still do live, live horrible cutthroat lives out here.." She turned away and looked to the city in the distance "Thats where we are going, its not too far and should have things your village needs."

Kat's pace slowed a bit with that question "Well when everything went down I'd like to assume the world was cleansing itself, not of everything just humans, you see from the stories I have heard we destroyed all we had been given." She stared at the dusty ground below "All of the waste used to be beautiful forest and land at one point, till humans ruined the land, messed with life itself and built things like that" She pointed to the crumbling city before them. "I believe it was only luck that the humans who are alive now still exist" Her pace once again quickend toward the city, she would stop occasionally to listen.

"No offense taken, I'm not really human anyways." She said as they entered the crumbling city.

Jekyll stiffened as he heard then talk when they entered the crumbling city, he spike softly "we made mistakes, but part of being human is learning from mistakes. Being able to live on even through hell." he kept his riffle up constantly checking behind them. I always heard stories of raiders in the old world places. Hiding, waiting." he went ahead a little "I'll scout ahead of you don't mind"

"Sounds like they entirely deserve their fate," Ombre growled, slowing down her pace. "Serves them right. And serves any other race that destroys their surroundings and pays the price of ultimate extinction right as well. The world's better off without them. Kat, I hope to the skies that whatever you are, it doesn't do this."

"I was once human, that was a long time ago, I'm something else now." She said walking she looked to Jekyll "Yes be careful" she said calmly.

Jekyll put on his mask, and looked at ombre, he felt offended, but it didnt matter now. he went forward looking through the streets into windows, occasionally stopping to pick through rubble "we have been punished for our mistake, everyone has living in an ocean of dust and sand, we wont make the same mistake, we will live on." Jekyll was quite upset, without consideration whoever or, whatever that plant was saying every one of the people he knew, and jekyll himself should be dead, because of the mistakes of the past. maybe he was right, maybe we did deserve to die, but the past could not be changed, all we can do now is live for a better future.

Jekyll kept on sneaking forward, making sure there weren't other inhabitants here in this desolate city.
