Empty alcove in Academy

Does anyone know what goes in the alcove to the left of the door to the academy? The Kaos mode statue is to the right but I cannot find anything about the left alcove. Thank-you

It's the Legendary Treasure location for the golden Flynn statue from Nightmare Express. Doesn't do anything, pretty sure.
