So, if I play the game online with someone, and have my voice chat off, but theirs on, would it cancel out my thing, and turn voice chat on for both players? Would I be able to hear them and they wouldn't hear me? Any answer would be appreciated.

I think turning off voice chat was a thing planned for parental controls,so probably if you can't use it you can't hear them either.

If it helps any whenever I played online co-op with users here I just sent PMs if the connection had issues or when we were done.
